Support for your military child

We are very pleased to be able to offer play therapy through the support of The Armed Forces Education Trust.  You can find out more about their great work via their website - https://armedforceseducation.org/

Ruth is our trusted play therapist.

"I am a certified play therapist (registered with Play Therapy UK and BACP) working one-to-one or with groups of children and young people. I accept private referrals as well as commissioned work (for example from schools or charities) in the Oxfordshire area.  I am also trained in Parent and Child Attachment Play (PCAP), supporting parents in forming positive relationships with their children.

I have a background in teaching, specifically supporting children and young people with behavioural and emotional needs."

Month of the Military Child is a really important time of year for us. We celebrate the links we have with the community.

Postings
We understand that moving your child to a new school can be a difficult time and we do all that we can to ensure that this transition either to us or to another school is seamless.

Postings in to RAF Brize Norton
If you are moving to the area and want to know more about our admissions process and who to contact, please see our admissions page.  Please ensure you apply for a school place by visiting www.oxfordshire.gov.uk where an online admissions form can be completed.

Postings from RAF Brize Norton
If you have received notice of a posting, please could you let us know as soon as possible. Please complete a leavers form (available from the school office) and return to the school office. This will enable us to do the following:

  • support your child in preparing to move to another school
  • collate the necessary records and documentation to post to the new school
  • liaise with the new school especially if your school is on the SEN register

Deployment
We know that the effects of deployment on children can often be a barrier to learning and to help ease this we have a dedicated Family Support Worker, Mrs Toni Summers, who runs our Buddy Club specifically for children who have a parent away. Outside of this group she is on hand to speak to children and parents regarding emotional issues related to deployment
