Wednesday 3rd March 2026
We really enjoyed exploring the school grounds today. We went out and discussed where we can plant different bee, butterfly and insect friendly plants. We also decided on a space for a 'wild area' and where can place more bird boxes, hedgehog houses and bug hotels. We have registered for the RSPB Wild Challenge and Mrs Barnes has shared the information with the teachers.
Monday 2nd February 2026
Today we went through the school's Birdwatch results and appointed our Litter Monitors. Congratulations to Thomas, Sienna, Eleanor, Elsie, Mason, Maia, George and Seren who will ensure the playground is kept clean and tidy. We also discussed a second hand book and uniform sale for after school on Thursday 5th March.
January 2026
We met several times to develop and practise our whole school assembly, which shared our Eco School Code with our community. We also explained the Big School Birdwatch and talked about why the Birdwatch is important.
Tuesday 9th December 2025
Today we have worked hard to finish our Action Plan and Eco Code! We have set actions and targets for each area of Biodiversity, School Grounds and Litter. We then wrote our Eco Code, thinking carefully about the important things we can all do to be more environmentally friendly and thoughtful.
Tuesday 25th November 2025
We have worked hard to make progress on our Action Plan and have lots of ideas for how to improve the school grounds and biodiversity. We have decided that we would like to raise money for a hedgehog charity, as hedgehogs are now endangered. Next time we meet we will finish our Action Plan and work on our Eco Code. Esmae and Poppy shared ideas they had worked on at home for Eco Committee as well.
Tuesday 11th November 2025
Today we finished our Environmental Review. We looked through the whole document and noticed positives and negatives. We discussed each area and decided on our three focus strands for this year: Biodiversity, School Grounds and Litter. We feel we can make lots of positive changes in these areas and are looking forward to writing our Action Plan.
Tuesday 21st October 2025
We held our first meeting today! We talked about how the Environmental Review works and how that leads to an Action Plan. We then began reviewing the first 5 strands of the Environmental Review.
September 2025
Mrs Barnes and Mrs Scovell led an assembly to explain about Eco Schools and forming an Eco Committee. Children then went away and wrote a speech about why they want to be an Eco Warrior! Classes then voted and our Eco team were elected. Children loved receiving their special Eco Warrior badges in Celebration Assembly.
We enjoyed sharing our Eco Code with the school and discussing the upcoming Birdwatch. We explained why the Birdwatch is important and what children need to do.

The whole school joined in the Birdwatch in February. We all spent time outside listening to birds and searching for them in the school grounds. We found lots of wood pigeons, magpies, blackbirds and sparrows. Some of us saw blue tits and robins.
