Welcome to Gateway Primary School and to our website.
I joined Gateway Primary School in September 2015 and feel privileged to be part of a community that believes in ‘a lifelong love of learning’. Our children (and staff) are happy, resilient, well-adjusted young people who thrive in making progress in their learning journey. We believe in ‘challenge for all’ within an atmosphere that nurtures children and enables them to persevere and overcome the all too familiar ‘fear of failure’.
We want our pupils to feel safe, happy and successful.
We are committed to giving our pupils a well rounded and stimulating school experience. Our curriculum delivers all subjects through topic based learning, enhanced with trips out and visitors in. Our children enjoy learning and we offer a wide range of activities for them to explore. At Gateway Primary School, every child is challenged to meet their full potential. Monitoring progress regularly allows us to continue meeting the needs of our individuals as they grow and develop, between year groups and key phases. We believe communicating with parents is an important part of a child’s learning journey and our open door policy encourages you to share their successes and areas for development.
Our pupils become independent learners, taking on responsibilities to support our community. Our year sixes, in their black uniforms, elect a head boy and head girl and take on support roles for our younger children; sports leaders, library assistants and lunchtime buddies. Outside of lessons, our children participate in local sporting events, sing with our very busy choir and take part in music lessons. With regular events such as Harvest Festival, Bedtime Reading and the Christmas Fayre to name but a few, we believe Gateway Primary School really is a great place to be.
We warmly welcome visits to school. Please do not hesitate if you would like me to show you round either school or discuss your child’s needs.
Thank you for visiting!
