We have begun the Month of the Military Child by welcoming into school Jess Price from RAF Brize Norton along with some students from Carterton Community College. We talked about the significance of the dandelion and also what it is like to be a military child. The children from the secondary school talked about the jobs their parents do and the different ways in which they cope when loved ones are away.
We are so pleased to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection with you - Gateway Primary School is a 'Good' school with 'Outstanding' personal development. You can read the full report on the 'Ofsted and Monitoring' page of the website.

KS1 have been writing leaflets all about Carterton.
Congratulations to our team of year 5 and 6 athletes who competed at the Carterton U11s Indoor Athletics event alongside the other Carterton Primary Schools. As always, a wonderful display of team spirit and support and we are very proud to be runners up! Well done to everyone involved.
Unfortunately the snow stopped us visiting the church today - but Gary came to us! Thank you for a special Christmas service Gary. Merry Christmas everyone.

We were pleased to officially open our new EYFS unit this week with a special visit from the Town Mayor. We love the new open plan space!
April is the Month of The Military Child and we held an assembly on Monday to start this time of reflection and celebration. Jessica Price, from RAF Brize Norton, Ayleila Parry from Airplay, Service ambassadors from Carterton Community College were our guest speakers as well as Katie Edge, a PTI who got us all moving with a wake and shake.
It was a great success and a chance for children to realise what is available to all children in Carterton. Plus the recognition that all of our children have made new friends and have had to say goodbye.
We look forward to the sharing assembly at the end of April when the children get to share their thoughts and feelings.
